PALM DESERT, Calif. – The Augustana women's golf team concluded its first tournament of the season on Friday as it hosted the Augustana Spring Fling among a strong field of seven teams. The Vikings finished in fourth place with a team stroke count of 655 at Palm Desert Golf Course.

How it Happened
- Shannon McCormick led the Vikings with a total stroke count of 162 and a finish in 17th. McCormick totaled a score of 82 on Thursday and 80 on Friday. She garnered three birdies on day one.
- Lanie Veenendall finished in a tie for 20th with a stroke count of 164. After shooting an 83 on day one, she bounced back with an 81 on day two.
- Payton Drefke and Masy Mock both finished in a tie for 30th after they both shot a stroke count of 166. Drefke shot back-to-back scores of 83. Mock shot an 87 on day one and attacked the course on day two with a score of 79.
- Anna Eckmann finished out the team scores with a stroke count of 167 and a finish in 32nd.
- Avary Johnson finished directly behind McCormick as an independent in 18th. Johnson shot a stroke count of 163 with scores of 80 and 83.
- Playing as an independent, Mattie Weidenbach finished with a stroke count of 165 and in a tie for 24th. She shot rounds of 85 and 80.
- Hanna Knoop rounded out the Vikings as an independent in 42nd. She garnered rounds of 87 and 92 for a stroke count of 179.
