LEXINGTON, KY – The Augustana volleyball team has been bestowed with the 2025 American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award, the AVCA and INTENT announced on Monday.
This is the ninth year in a row that the Vikings have received this honor. Augustana finished the 2024-25 school year with a cumulative team GPA of 3.61.
The award, initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors volleyball teams that maintain a year-long grade-point average of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale or a 4.1 on a 5.0 scale. Augustana is one of more than 1,450 collegiate and high school teams to earn the award this year.
"As always, I am deeply impressed with our student-athletes' commitment to their academic pursuits," said Augustana head volleyball coach Jennifer Jacobs. "They consistently and continuously remain on top of their performance in the classroom and this award highlights that excellence. The commitment to academics is a staple of our program and an expectation these women meet day in and day out. Receiving this award is a testament to their continued commitment to high achievement and I'm proud of our players and program for receiving this award!"
