Fylling to Return to Radio Booth For 2025 Football Season

8/20/2025 12:00:00 PM

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Augustana is pleased to announce that radio play-by-play voice Jeff Fylling will return to the booth for the 2025 football season.

"After a year away due to health issues, being healthy enough to return to the radio booth is a true blessing," said Fylling. "I'm incredibly thankful for the support I received and excited to be back doing what I love—calling Augustana football. I can't wait to get back to working with this tremendous coaching staff and [Radio color commentator] John [Schultz] and Jim [Heinitz] for another season."

Fylling has called 430 football games and over 1,600 basketball games across 41 seasons with Augustana. He has been on the call for two NSIC championship football seasons, including the first outright conference championship since 1959, and seven NSIC titles across men's and women's basketball.

"I am so thankful and excited to have my friend Jeff back in the saddle for another season of Augustana Football as "The Voice Of The Vikings,"" said head coach Jerry Olszewski. "Jeff knows Augustana athletics better than any individual I know and has been a huge part of our story for decades. He not only understands the game but knows our players, current and past, and that is a difference in sharing the call of a game with such passion."

"I was moved by the tremendous number of alumni that reached out to me during Jeff's time away to see how he was doing.  This just shows how much impact he has had on our athletes, families and fans over the years. Looking forward to another year with him on the call and the 2025 journey of Augustana football."

In his 41 seasons, Fylling has seen 34 NCAA tournament appearances between football, men's basketball and women's basketball and was on the call for the 2013 Women's Final Four team and the 2016 Men's National Championship basketball team.

Augustana will host six home games in 2025 including Viking Days on Sept. 27 against Winona State, the Hall of Fame Game on Oct. 11 against Concordia-St. Paul and senior day Nov. 8 against Minnesota State. They open the season Aug. 30 at home against Missouri Western. Season ticket packages begin at just $89 and can be purchased by clicking here or by going to GoAugie.com/Tickets.
