Strong Goaltending Leads to Scoreless Draw Friday Night Against Bemidji State

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Augustana soccer team played to a 0-0 tie on Friday night to kick off Viking Days against Bemidji State. Taya Baker made five saves for the Vikings while Grace Katter and Madelyn White led the Vikings with three shots each. 

Augustana outshot the Beavers in shots on goal, 6-5. Three Vikings played the full 90 minutes.

SHOT (BSU) 12' - Madeline Davey recorded the first shot of the game as she powered it just wide of the bar. 

SHOT (AU) 21' - Katter opened the momentum for Augustana with a shot on goal in the 21st minute. 

SHOT (AU) 23' - White kept the pressure for the Vikings with a shot low right. 

SHOT (BSU) 29' - Kenzie Harer almost opened the scoring for the Beavers, but hit the crossbar. 

SHOTS (AU) 32' - Ally Hamski and Addison Burt applied pressure in the 32nd minute with two shots. 

SHOT (BSU) 34' - Baker made a key save in the latter half of the first half with a save on Tirzah Lange. 

SHOT (BSU) 55' - Breanna Weilert was denied by Baker with a shot destined for the middle of the net.

VIDEO REPLAY 63' - A potential goal for the Beavers was looked at by the referees in the 63rd minute, but there was no conclusive evidence, so the match remained 0-0. 

SHOT (AU) 71' - White was denied in the 71st minute by Sonia Alfieri. 

FREE KICK (AU) 88' - Augustana was awarded a free kick in 88th minute and set the ball across the box before a Beaver defender controlled possession and denied the offensive opportunity.
