CHADRON, Neb. – The Augustana volleyball team fell to No. 25 Northern State in five sets to close out its time in the Eagle Classic. The Vikings secured the first and third set before it fell in the fifth set, 15-10.
AU moved to 3-1 on the young season and returns to the court Thursday to kick off its time in the 2025 Tiger Classic in Hays, Kansas, where it'll take on Northwestern Oklahoma, Fort Hays, New Mexico Highlands, and MSU Texas.
Reagan Jansen led the attack with 17 kills with a .273 hitting percentage.
Maya Wente was just behind Jansen with 16 kills on a .324 hitting percentage.
Lucy Belisle rounded out the top three hitters with 11 kills.
Kiylah Franke dished out 50 assists and has two aces.

Augustana totaled 57 kills and 50 digs. The Vikings led the advantage in aces with six and collected five blocks.
After a back-and-forth battle in the first set, Augustana took the advantage with a four-point run to push the score to 12-7. NSU answered back before Augustana continued its momentum to secure a set one win by a score of 25-19.
Northern State fell early in set two, back-to-back three-point runs that carried momentum into a set two win, 25-20.
The Wolves started hot in the third set before AU turned the tide and compiled two four-point runs. NSU answered back to make the score 13-13, kills from Jansen and Wente carried Augustana's stride to gain a two-point advantage. Both teams battled back-and-forth with their share of the lead, but Augustana edged out Northern to take a 25-23 set three win.
NSU shifted the momentum of the match with a 25-13 set four win to force the final fifth set.
Augustana fell early in the fifth set but bounced back to make it a two-point advantage in favor of the Wolves. Northern had four successful two-point runs to close out the fifth set, 15-10.
