Lommel Claims All-America Status in 1M Dive to Close NCAA Diving Championships

EVANSVILLE, Ill. - In her final event of the weekend, Avery Lommel added another First Team All-America honor. She concludes her junior season with a fifth-place finish in the 1m dive on the last day of the 2026 NCAA DII Swimming & Diving Championships.

From Delano, Minnesota, Lommel earned Top-8 honors for the first time in the 1m dive in her career. She opened the day in the prelims, earning a spot in the final after tallying 455.75 points. The total was good for second, missing the top qualifying spot by 7.60 points.

In the Championship Final, Lommel eclipsed that total, setting a new 1m 11-dive program record when she tallied 462.75 points. That score was enough for a fifth-place finish behind three Clarion divers and a diver from Colorado Mesa, just as she did in the 3m.

Lommel helps the Vikings to a 21st-place finish with 28 team points all by herself.
