Augustana 33-12, 26-6 NSIC
Sioux Falls 22-22, 18-13 NSIC

Game one: Augustana 5, Sioux Falls 2
After entering with the bases loaded and nobody out in the sixth inning of a 4-1 game, Diedrich faced just six batters and struck out two of them to help slam the door and separate himself at the top of the career saves list.

Drew Ball struck out four and allowed two earned runs in 5+ innings of action. Myles Hanson walked the lone batter he faced and Diedrich threw the final two innings for his fifth save of the season. Nate Soelter had two of four Viking hits and drove in two runs. Maddox Foss and Joshua Koskie each had a hit and run scored while the Vikings drew nine walks and stole four bases as a team.

Kobe Eikmeier reached on an error to load off the third inning, moved to second on a Soelter single and then got to third on a sac bunt from Bjorn Lind. Troy Berg would lift a sac fly on the first pitch of his at bat, bringing Eikmeier home and giving the Vikings a 1-0 lead.

That would hold until the sixth inning when AU drew four bunts and had a Soelter single, scoring three runs and putting themselves in front 4-0. The Cougars countered in the bottom of the frame with two runs and Foss delivered an RBI single in the seventh to bring the game to its final score.

Game two: Augustana 14, Sioux Falls 4
Lind had four hits and drove in four runs to lead an offense that scattered 19 hits, with all nine starters recording at least a hit. Eight different Vikings scored a run while eight Vikings drove in a run. Soelter and Carter McPeak had three hits apiece while Koskie, Maddox Foss and Brandon Weigel each had two hits.

Joel Van De Stroet allowed three runs, two earned, and struck out four in 4 2/3 innings. Jack Sutton had a strikeout to finish the fifth before Josiah Petersen threw three innings, striking out five and allowing a run to get AU through the eighth. Riley Rothschadl finished the sweep, striking out three and allowing a pair of baserunners in the ninth.

The Viking offense jumped early. Soelter hit a one-out triple and came in on a Lind single to open the scoring. With two outs and runners on the corners, McPeak slugged a double to left center, scoring a pair and making it 3-0 in the first inning.

The Cougars countered with a run in the third and another in the fourth to get within a run at 3-2. In the top of the fifth, Weigel drew a leadoff walk, eventually reaching second with two outs. There, Lind pulled through with a double, bringing in Weigel and doubling the lead. USF would get a run back in the bottom of the inning to get back within a run at 4-3.

USF went on to hit a solo blast in the eighth inning to even the score at 4-4. The offense came alive in the ninth for the Vikings to finish the game. Weigel, Eikmeier and Soelter all singled to load the bases with nobody out.

Lind and Berg followed with walks and Joshua Kosie was hit by a pitch to put the Vikings up three. Lundquist added a walk after a strikeout and Maddox Foss emptied the bases with a double to grow the lead to seven runs. He would score on another Weigel single and Soelter doubled after a pair of wild pitches to bring him in. Soeler scored on a Lind single to cap a 10-run inning and finish the sweep.

Augustana is back on the road Tuesday, taking on Southwest Minnesota State in Marshall, Minnesota at 3:30 p.m.
