LINCOLN, Neb. - The Augustana baseball team split a pair of neutral site games on Friday, falling 3-2 before winning 17-9 over UMary at the Sandhills Global Youth Complex.

A two-run home run in the top of the ninth propelled the Marauders to a game one win. '
Ethan Hoffman allowed one run in 6 1/3 of work while striking out six to earn a no decision.
Will Henry threw 1 2/3 scoreless with two strikeouts and
Adam Diedrich allowed the home run and struck out a batter in the final inning.
The offense had four hits in the game as
Brandon Weigel,
Bjorn Lind,
Joshua Koskie and
Nate Soelter each had one.
The Vikings struck first when Soelter drew a bases-loaded walk. UMary would score the same way in the seventh to tie the score at 1-1.
In the bottom of the seventh, Koskie came up huge with a pinch-hit RBI double to give the Vikings a 2-1 lead, but the ninth inning blast from UMary was enough to bring the game to its final score.
Game one: Augustana 17, UMary 9
The bats came alive in game two, scattering 13 hits and drawing 12 walks in a victory.
Kobe Eikmeier scored four times and had two hits while
Carter Heinsch had two, along with
Ragan Pinnow,
Troy Berg and
Ryan Clementi.
Joel Van De Stroet went 3 1/3 innings to start, allowing six runs and striking out four.
Riley Rothschadl moved to 1-0 on the year after throwing the final 3 2/3 innings and allowing two runs and striking out five.
The Marauders scored an early run before the Vikings attacked in the bottom of the inning. Heinsch and Pinnow had RBI singles and Lind had a sac fly to make it 3-1. Koskie drove in a run on a fielder's choice, Clementi had an RBI bunt single and Soelter drove in another on a sac bunt to go ahead 6-1.
UMary hit a grand slam in the second inning to get within a run. The Vikings countered with one in the bottom of the frame and then scored three more in the third, highlighted by an Eikmeier two-run double to jump to a 10-5 lead.
Another UMary grand slam brought the Marauders within 10-9. Soelter, Weigel and Heinsch each had an RBI in the fourth to go back ahead 13-9. In the fifth and sixth innings, the Vikings tacked on four more runs to bring the game to its final score.
The two teams will play in the rubber match at 1 p.m., on Saturday.
