Pronounced Ma-lahn-ko. 2008: Saw action in seven games, including the six final regular season contests.

2007: Participated in six games…played opener at Mary as running back, then moved to defensive back for the last five games of the season…Had three tackles in new role at defensive back…Returned three kickoffs at Mary for 12.7 yard average.  

2006: Appeared in all 11 games at running back … Earned a start against Minnesota Duluth … Rushed for a season-high 29 yards against Nebraska-Omaha. 

2005: Sat out season as a redshirt.

High School: A three-year letterwinner and two-year starting running back at East Righetti High School … Was a two-time All-PAC 5 performer … Helped lead the Warriors to back-to-back appearances in the California Interscholastic Federation playoffs in 2003 and 2004 … Rushed for 1,434 yards and had 218 yards receiving with 19 total touchdowns as a junior … Due to a coaching change, no stats were kept during his senior season … Also a stellar track performer with personal best times of 10.9 in the 100 meters and 21.0 in the 200 meters … Was an all-conference and all-county track performer as a junior.

Personal: Son of Mark and Valerie Malangko … Major is business … His mother, grandfather and grandmother also attended Augustana College.
