Biography

2022-23: NWCA Scholar All-American … national qualifier at 141 pounds … finished 4-4 overall and 2-0 in duals … won a pair of matches in the NCAA Super Region V Tournament, finishing in second … 1-0 against ranked opponents.

2021-22: NWCA Scholar All-American … national qualifier at 149 pounds ... second team All-NSIC ... Academic All-NSIC ... had a record of 10-5 … placed second at the NCAA Super Region V tournament … logged 30 takedowns, 14 escapes and three reversals.

2020-21: Second team All-NSIC ... Earned NSIC Wrestler of the Week honors after defeating No. 1-ranked Jake Barzowski of St. Cloud State in a 4-2 decision ... went 3-1 on the season with one fall and one tech fall.

2019-20: NWCA Scholar All-American ... NWCA All-American at 141 Pounds ... national qualifier at 141 pounds … went 2-1 with a tech fall while ranked No. 9 at the Super Region 5 Tournament to qualify for nationals … All-NSIC Second-Team … earned a first-place finish at the Dakota Wesleyan Open on Nov. 9 … took down the No. 1 wrestler in the country in a 9-4 decision in Augustana's win over then-No. 2 Nebraska-Kearney … earned NSIC Wrestler of the Week honors on Feb. 17, 2020 after defeating the No. 9 wrestler in the country with another 9-4 decision in Augustana's win over then-No. 17 Minnesota State … led the Vikings in wins with a 27-9 overall record with six falls, seven major decisions and eight tech falls  … went  9-2 in duals including nine victories in a row from Dec. 20 to Feb. 14 … recorded 94 takedowns, seven reversals, 50 escapes, 14 two-point nearfalls, 20 four-point nearfalls and six riding time points. 

2018-19: Sat out as a red shirt … competed unattached and compiled a 9-3 record with three falls, two tech falls, and one major decision at 141 pounds. 

High School: 2018 Graduate of Pipestone Area High School … went undefeated in sophomore and junior seasons and won state his senior year … three-time state champion ... finished fourth place at state his freshman year ... won individual awards for most falls, most pins, and most valuable wrestler sophomore and junior year.

Personal: Son of Aaron and Melissa Burnett … was born in Pipestone, Minn. on November 18, 1999 … is undecided on major
