Indoor: NSIC All-Academic... Won the triple jump at the Mount Marty Opener with a distance of 13.60m
Outdoor: NSIC All-Academic... Placed fourth and recorded a personal best in the triple jump at the NSIC Championships with a distance of 14.19m
2021-22:
Indoor: NSIC All-Academic … Placed 13th in the triple jump at the NSIC Indoor Track & Field Championships on Feb. 25-26, with a leap of 44-4.25 … Had a season-best jump in the triple jump at the Ted Nelson Classic on Feb. 5, jumping 44-6 … Ran a season-best time in the 60m at the Ted Nelson Classic on Feb. 5 running 7.27.
Outdoor: NSIC All-Academic … Ran the third leg of the 4x100m relay team that placed fourth at the NSIC Outdoor Track & Field Championships … Ran the third leg of the 4x100m relay team that ran 41.71 at the Minnesota Open.
2020-21 (Sophomore):
Indoor: Placed seventh in the triple jump at the NSIC Championships on Feb. 26 jumping 45-4.5 … Ran a personal-best in the 60m at the SDSU Last Chance meet on Feb. 20 running a time of 7.20 … Had a personal-best in the long jump at the Northern State Dual on Jan. 31 jumping 19-3.5.
Outdoor: NSIC All-Academic … Ran a personal best 11.15 in the 100m dash at the Maverick Classic on May 7 … had a season’s best 45-4.5 in the triple jump at the Northwestern Red Raider Open on Apr. 10.
2019-20 (Freshman):
Indoor: Earned a first place finish in the triple jump at the SDSU DII Invitational on Jan. 24 with a distance of 13.75m (45-1.5)... Recorded a personal best triple jump at the NSIC Championships on Feb. 29 with a distance of 13.88m (45-6.5)... Ran a personal best 60 meter at the SDSU DII Invitational on Jan. 24 with a time of 7.27 (fifth-place).Â
Outdoor: Season canceled due to COVID-19
High School: Clayton graduated from Norfolk Senior High School in May of 2019. As a junior, he was the Norfolk Track & Field MVP and won the team’s Iron Man award.Â
Personal: Clayton was born on Mar. 20, 2001 in Norfolk, Nebraska, to parents Pat and Wendy Clayton. He has three siblings, Bre, Kenzie and Abbey, and enjoys frolfing, biking, swimming, football, basketball and running. He plans on majoring in exercise science and minoring in business at Augustana.
