Strength and Conditioning: Injury Prevention and Rehabilitation

Rehabilitation

Prevention

Athletics place a variety of demands on the body. The high intensity competitive nature of athletics makes injuries a fact of the game. A goal for the Viking Strength and Conditioning Program is to prepare our athletes physically for the many demands their sports will place on their bodies.

The areas focused on for improving athletic participation are also the skills most associated with minimizing the potential for injury. By making gains in strength, flexibility, speed, and agility, our athletes have reduced their risk of injury.

Rehabilitation

Injuries are part of athletics. Because our athletes train in such a comprehensive strength and conditioning program they already have an advantage in the rehabilitation process.

The Viking Strength and Conditioning staff work very closely with The Augustana University Department of Sports Medicine to ensure that our student athlete's perform at their highest levels.
