Confidence is one of the keys to mental toughness. Viking athletes are presented with daily physical and mental challenges with a competitive emphasis. By creating a competitive environment in the practice arena and in the weight room, players become more familiar with the game situation and become more confident in their ability to perform in pressure situations.
Players are matched up with other individuals and in sub-groups to create a competitive environment both during the season and in the off-season.
Some of the strength competitions that we utilize include bench press competitions, team tire races, tricep dip competitions and other mental and physical competitions.
