Strength

The Strength and Conditioning Staff at Augustana University takes the approach that athletic performance and injury prevention are much more important factors than how much weight our athletes can squat or bench press.

We use a year-round program that consists of phases that have a different emphasis. We utilize many of the traditional lifts such as the bench press, but we also put a big emphasis on movements that involve multiple joints and are geared toward power an example of this type of movement would be the hang clean or the snatch.

At Augustana we also train our athletes with non-traditional implements such as kegs, sandbags and tractor tires.
