2018 (Freshman): Sat out season as a redshirt

High School Notes: Gauer was a two-year starter and three-year letterwinner while in high school … as a junior he posted a .363 batting average with a .438 on-base percentage and a .567 slugging percentage … he helped guide his team to a regional title and a sixth-place finish in the state tournament … he earned all-region honors … as a sophomore he earned a .434 batting average with a .500 on-base percentage … he helped his team to a 23-20 record and a sixth-place finish at state … during his freshman campaign he had a .475 batting average with a .515 on-base percentage
