2023: NSIC Champion … helped AU advance to the Division II College World Series … Academic All-NSIC … made 20 appearances, including nine starts on the mound … struck out 93 batters in 69 innings … struck out a season-high 11 in six innings against Minnesota Duluth on March 30th … struck out 10 in a season-high seven innings at Minnesota State on April 14 … Allowed three hits and no runs in five innings at Wayne State on April 26.
2022: Earned NSIC All-Academic honors…Played in 13 games for the Vikings...Held a 3-0 record in 2022…Pitched 24.2 innings…Tallied 35 strikeouts and had a 2.55 ERA.
2021: Appeared in 12 games and had three starts on the mound for the Vikings… Had a 2.23 ERA, 1-0 record and one save with 54 strikeouts in 36.1 innings pitched… NSIC All-Academic.
2020: Made three appearances on the mound for the Vikings… Pitched four innings with seven strikeouts, a 2.25 ERA and an opponent batting average of .133… Season cut short due to COVID-19.
High School: Kranz graduated from Shakopee High School in June of 2019. As a senior, he went 4-4 on the mound in 42 innings pitched with a 2.67 ERA, 38 strikeouts and a 1.4 WHIP. He was a team captain, pitcher of the year and all-conference honorable mention. As a junior, he went 4-1 on the mound with three complete games, a 1.09 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 20 strikeouts in 32 innings pitched. He was named to the all-conference team and was named Rookie of the Year that season.
Personal: Kranz was born on Nov. 7, 2000 in Shakopee, Minnesota, to parents Amy and Wade Kranz. He has three siblings, Emily, Kara and Megan, and enjoys hunting, fishing and anything to do with sports when he is not on the baseball field. He plans to major in political science or government and international affairs and minor in journalism while at Augustana.
