2023: NSIC Champion … helped AU advance to the Division II College World Series … NCBWA All-Central Region Honorable Mention … All-NSIC First Team … made 14 starts on the mound … went 6-5 with a 2.98 ERA, striking out 87 in 81 2/3 innings … struck out 14 batters in six innings against Emporia State on February 18 … struck out 13 in seven innings against Bemidji State on April 2 … back-to-back starts accounting for 13 innings, five hits, no earned runs and 14 strikeouts against Colorado Christian and D’Youville on February 25 and March 4.

2022: Named to the NSIC All-Conference Second-Team…Played in 16 games while making 10 starts…Held a 7-3 record in 2022…Struckout 81 batters…Had an ERA of 2.87.

2021: Made three appearances on the mound for the Vikings.

2020: Started one game and made three appearances on the mound for the Vikings… Season cut short due to COVID-19.

High School: Saari graduated from Moorhead High School in June of 2019. As a junior, he went 2-2 in 21.2 innings pitched with a 2.58 ERA and 31 strikeouts. As a sophomore, he struck out 24 hitters in 21.2 innings pitched.

Personal: Saari was born on July 10, 2001 in Bigfork, Minnesota, to parents Matt and Megan Saari. He has two siblings, Brady and Maija, and enjoys hunting, fishing, playing the violin and playing video games when he is not on the baseball field. He plans to major in sports management at Augustana and would like to be a GM of a professional sports franchise in the future.
