Coach Jacobson returns to Augustana for his first year as the pitching coach. He graduated from Augustana in 2012 with a degree in Physics.
Prior to his return, he served as the pitching coach for Macalester College in St. Paul, MN for five seasons. During his tenure, the Scots captured their first MIAC conference tournament championship and NCAA Regional birth. In addition, they secured their first consecutive seasons with conference tournament births.
He coached multiple pitchers to All-Conference and All-Region honors as well as helping a pitcher set the new single season record for ERA for the program.
During his time at Macalester, he was able to train a number of high school athletes in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area to college baseball opportunities through his arm care and strength program.
Jacobson began his collegiate career at Saint Mary’s in Winona, Minn., before transferring to Augustana for two seasons.
While at Augustana he set a school record in 2012 for innings pitched in a season (82.2). He was a NSIC pitcher of the week and Central Region pitcher of the week in May of 2011.
Jacobson was selected as a Gold Glove winner in the NSIC, and earned first team a Central Region Gold glove award as well.
He concluded his playing days with a stint in the Pecos League during the summer of 2013.
