2018 (Senior): Herman saw action in 34 games and made 20 starts … He hit .225, recorded four doubles, one triple and one home run with 15 RBI … Had a slugging percentage of .352 and an on base percentage of .321 … was 2-for-2 stealing bases and had a .993 fielding percentage … Was was a member of a team that won a program-best 52 games, an NSIC Conference Tournament championship, a Central Region Tournament Championship and the school’s first ever National Championship

2017 (Junior): Appeared in 28 games and started nine for the Vikings … drove in 10 runs on nine hits including three home runs … had a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage, accounting for 81 putouts and seven assists  

New Mexico Junior College: Trent spent one season at New Mexico Junior College where he posted a .447 batting average. Herman had an on-base percentage of .537 and a slugging percentage of .884 last season. In his only season at New Mexico Herman hit five home runs while helping the team to a 38-21 record and a participant in the 2016 Region 5 Tournament
 
High School: Herman attended Muscatine High School in Muscatine, Iowa where he was a three-year letter winner and starter for the Muskies. Herman was named team captain as a senior. In his three year as a starter Herman earned all-conference, all-metro and all-district honors three times. As a junior and senior he was earned all-state honors as well
