Michael Day enters his 2nd season as an Offensive Quality Control Coach for the Augustana Football program. Day will assist with the Tight Ends.
Day comes to Augustana from Minnesota State University where he graduated with a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies in the fall of 2017. Prior to his arriving at Minnesota State, Day served as a student assistant Culver- Stockton College and Rochester Community and Technical College.
While at Minnesota State, Day was a student assistant coach and football operation assistant in which he primarily worked with the Defensive Line and also helped out in additional areas on the defense. During his lone season at Minnesota State they had a 13-1 record in 2017, Outright NSIC Conference Champs, and earned the #2 seed in the NCAA Super Region Three while advancing to the regional championships.
Before Culver- Stockton College, Day spent three seasons at Rochester Community and Technical College (2013- 2015) under the guidance of Bill Quistorff. Day contributed to the recruiting aspect and as a defensive assistant to then RCTC defensive coordinator Joe Ties to help out with scout team. During the 2015 season RCTC came off its best season in school history finishing 11-1 with an appearance in the 2015 NJCAA National Championship game - which was only the third time a non scholarship program had made it to that game in the history of the NJCAA. During his time at RCTC the coaching staff went 31-5 and 31-2 in MCAC Conference play with three straight MCAC Conference Championships. The team also boasted 9-0 record in MCAC Conference Playoffs, won 3 straight MCAC Conference Championship in a row, participated in (2) Graphic Edge Bowl Games and was part of a coaching staff that played in the 2015 NJCAA National Championship Game in Biloxi, Miss.
Day now resides in Sioux Falls and working toward a masters degree in Sports Administration and Management at Augustana
