Sam Lundberg enters his first season as a graduate assistant coach for Augustana football in 2017. Lundberg will coach the defensive backs for the Vikings.
Lundberg, a 2016 graduate of Gustavus Adolphus, joins Augustana after spending 2016 as an offensive assistant coach at Gustavus. Lundberg coached the running backs in 2016, tutoring an all-conference second team selection. The Gusties ranked in the top five in the MIAC in rushing in 2016.
Lundberg also worked as a strength and conditioning intern at Minnetonka High School under former NFL strength and conditioning coach, Mark Asanovich. He assisted the head strength coach with daily individual and group workout sessions at Minnetonka.
He played four seasons at Gustavus as a quarterback. Lundberg graduated from Gustavus in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in physical and health education with a minor in coaching.
Lundberg resides in Sioux Falls and is pursuing a master’s degree in sports administration and leadership at Augustana.
