Trevor Naasz enters his first season as an defensive graduate assistant for the Augustana Football program...Naasz will assist with the defensive backs throughout the year.
One of the most successful defensive players for the Vikings in recent history, Naasz begins his coaching tenure after a successful career as a student-athlete at Augustana. In four years, Naasz started 33 games and appeared in 43. He recorded 218 tackles and picked off six passes in four seasons on the field. Naasz, a Augustana team captain his senior year, was named NSIC South Division All-Conference Second Team selection in 2017.
During his junior season in 2016, Naasz started all 11 games at free safety, and ranked fourth on the team with 64 total tackles. He intercepted one pass and recorded three pass break-ups.
A native of Sioux Falls, SD, Naasz prepped at Lincoln High School for coach Aaron Beavers. He was a three-year letter winner and team captain as a junior and senior years. He was named to Argus Leader Elite 45 team in 2013, also earning all-state, all-city and first team all-conference senior season.
