Hans Hoeg

Hans Hoeg is in his fourth year on the Augustana men’s basketball staff. Hoeg spent the last two seasons as a graduate assistant coach and was a volunteer assistant coach for the Vikings during the 2011-12 season.

Over his first two seasons at Augustana, Hoeg helped lead the Vikings to three straight NCAA Tournament appearances and three top-five finishes in the NSIC.

A native of Litchfield, Minn., Hoeg played three seasons at Wisconsin-River Falls from 2003 to 2006 and one year at Jamestown (N.D.) (2009-10) under former Viking assistant Jeff Trumbauer. While at UWRF, Hoeg was an all-conference and all-region choice. In 2004-05, he led all of Division III and was third in the NCAAA—regardless of Division--in free-throw percentage at 93.4 percent. At JC, he was an all-conference selection and led the NAIA in free-throw percentage (91.2 percent) during the 2009-10 campaign. Hoeg scored 1,368 points during his collegiate career.  He graduated from JC in 2010 with a bachelor's degree in business administration.

Hoeg graduated from Litchfield High School in 2003. He led his prep squads to a pair of state titles as a three-year starter.

Following his playing career, Hoeg spent one season at Benilde-St. Margaret's High School in St. Louis Park, Minn., as an assistant coach.

Hoeg lives in Sioux Falls with his wife, Danielle and their daughter, Olivia.
