2023-2024: GLIAC All-Academic Team of Excellence. Akins achieved second in the 200-yard backstroke at the Augustana vs Nebraska-Omaha meet, earning a time of 1:57.77. Akins also won the 200-yard backstroke in the AU vs UMM vs SMSU, with a time of 1:58.61. At the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Akins earned new personal bests, taking 11th in the 100 Backstroke (49.35) and 10th in the 200 Backstroke (1:49.32), while also leading off the sixth place 400 Medley relay.

2022-23: GLIAC All-Academic Team of Excellence. At the GLIAC championships, Akins swam a personal best of 50.16 in the 100 back in prelims, before placing 12th (50.55) in finals. Akins also took 13th in the 200 Backstroke (1:50.77), scoring 9 points for the Vikings.

2021-22: At the GLIAC championships, Akins swam a personal best time of 1:54.34 in the 200 back in prelims, and went 1:55.45 in finals to take 16th.

High School: Graduated from Glenwood Springs High School in May of 2021 ... Akins is a two-time state meet qualifier in the 100-backstroke, placing 12th at the state meet his sophomore year. 

Personal: Son to Ben and Heatherlynn Akins ... Born on 11/01/2003 in Leavenworth, Kan. ... Akins plans on majoring in Biology while at Augustana.
