Emily Mehr enters her second season as a graduate assistant with the Augustana women’s basketball program in 2014-15.
Mehr was part of a Vikings team that went 16-12 during the 2013-14 season. Augustana finished 11-11 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference, good for ninth place.
The Aitkin, MN native helped with the development of several young players, and worked primarily with the post players.
Mehr played for the University of Minnesota-Morris from 2009-2013. While at UMM, she picked up All-Upper Midwest Athletics Conference honors all four years. As a junior, Mehr surpassed 1,000 career points, averaging 18.4 points per contest. As a senior in 2012-13, Mehr averaged 21.1 points per game, shooting over 50% from the field on the year. That same season Mehr was voted UMAC player of the year as well as being named to the All-Region and All-American teams. She ended her career as the third leading scorer in UMM history.
Mehr, who currently resides in Sioux Falls, earned her bachelor’s degree in sport management from UMM in 2013. She is currently pursuing her master’s in sports administration and leadership.
