Shaunteva (Ashley) Pruett begins her third season as a coach for the Vikings.
During the 2016-2017 season, as a graduate assistant coach, she helped the Vikings finish with a 23-8 overall record and a 17-5 record in the NSIC to earn their first ever NSIC South Division Title.
In 2015-2016, the Vikings went 24-8 overall and had a 15-7 record in the NSIC. Augustana made it to the NSIC Conference Championship after knocking off No. 8 Winona State 85-84 in overtime.
Before joining the coaching staff, Teva put together a record-setting senior campaign and wrapped up an impressive five-year career with the Vikings. During her senior season, she was named All-America First Team by the WBCA, Bennet Rank, and the Division II Bulletin. She was a third team All-America selection by Daktronics. The Division II Bulletin honored her as player of the month in November 2014. Teva was a Daktronics All-Central Region first team player and was named NSIC Player of the Year, after averaging a career high 21.1 points per game. That average was first in the NSIC and eighth in all of Division II. Teva was a stand-out performer in the NSIC since arriving in 2011-2012. She was named NSIC Freshman of the year in 2011-2012, second-team All-NSIC as a sophomore, while also helping the Vikings reach the Final 4, and capped off her last two years by being on the All-NSIC first team. She ends her career third in points, third in assists, and first in free throws made.
Teva resides in Sioux Falls with her husband Josh. She graduated from Augustana with her bachelor’s degree in elementary education in 2014 and is pursuing her master's degree in sports administration and leadership. She will be in her first year of teaching third grade at JFK in Sioux Falls.
