Tommy Turgeon joined the Vikings coaching staff in June 2023 after serving the 2022-23 season with Jillian Flores Bennett at Iowa Western.
Turgeon holds specialty in recruiting and has proven skills in organization and management. He is committed to the empowerment, development and personal growth of student-athletes.
Prior to his time at Iowa Western, Turgeon was an assistant coach at Our Lady of the Lake University for two seasons, including one season with Flores Bennett. He helped guide the Saints to a 2022 Red River Athletic Conference Title and an undefeated season in conference play, finishing the season 20-11.
Before OLLU, Turgeon was a member of the CSU-Pueblo Women's Basketball coaching staff from 2015-17. In his first season with the Pack, the program set a school record with 26 wins and earned its highest regional seed in school history with a No. 2 seed. CSU-Pueblo would also win its conference record fifth RMAC Tournament title.
Turgeon furthered his experience at Colorado Northwestern (2019-20), Denver (2017-18 & 2019), and Wagner College (2018-2019).
Turgeon began his academic career at Iowa Western where he was a member of the men's soccer program and worked as a manager for women's basketball. He then continued his academic career at Bellevue University where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in 2014.
