Before Augustana: Prior to enrolling at Augie, McDonnel spent one semester as a student at the University of North Dakota. Prior to UND, McDonnel graduated from Lincoln High School in Sioux Falls in May of 2020. While at Lincoln, she was named to the Metro All-Conference Team three times along with garnering Sports Academic Scholar honors three times as well.

Personal: McDonnel was born on March 20, 2002 in Sioux Falls, S.D., to parents Dan and Wendy McDonnel. She has a younger sibling and enjoys going to the lake, reading and spending time with her family. While at Augustana, she plans to major in marketing.
