Teryn Solan

Teryn Solan enters his second season as a graduate assistant coach with the Augustana women's swimming program in 2017-18.

SolanĀ helped guide Augustana swimming to a successful inaugural season in 2016-17. The Vikings won five duals and picked up a first-place finish at the Morningside Invite on Nov. 12.Ā 

Solan is a 2015 graduate of Carthage College where he was a four-year letterwinner and member of the swimming and diving team. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in classical archaeology and a minor in geography.Ā 

As a senior, Solan finished second in the 1,650 freestyle (16:01.49), third in the 500 freestyle (4:39.09) and sixth in the 200 freestyle (1:45.03) at the CCIW Swimming & Diving Championship.Ā 

He qualifed for the NCAA Division III Championships as a junior and placed 13th in the 1,650 freestyle with a time of 15:55.41. He also qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:45.43 and the 500 freestyle (4:36.97). Solan earned All-America Honorable Mention honors in 2013 and was a three-time all-conference honoree. He was named his team's Most Valuable Swimmer following his junior season.

Solan was an assistant coach at Crown Point in 2015 and was an assistant swim coach at Lake Central High School from 2012-13.

Solan resides in Sioux Falls and is pursuing his master's degree in sports administration and leadership at Augustana.Ā
