Michelle Aggen, a 2016 graduate of Dakota Wesleyan, is in her fifth year as an assistant coach for the Augustana Volleyball program in 2022.
She began her journey at Augustana as a graduate assistant in the spring of 2018, shortly after Aggen was elevated to assistant coach.
Aggen’s duties as assistant coach consist of co-recruiting coordinator, travel coordinator, alumni relations, club tournament director, and co-camp director. She is also in charge of the offensive and defensive scouting.
As a native of Jackson, Minn., Aggen spent most of her college career at Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, S.D. In 2014, she transferred to DWU from Iowa Lakes Community College.
While at Dakota Wesleyan she was a three-year starter and three-year captain. Aggen also earned an honorable mention to the GPAC All-Conference team. She played in 92 career matches, and finished with 3,263 career set assists, which ranks third all-time at DWU. She also finished with 759 digs and 218 kills.
Aggen graduated in December of 2016 with a bachelor of science in business administration, with an emphasis in marketing and a minor in coaching. While at DWU she had a marketing internship with an insurance company in Mitchell, S.D. After college, Aggen started selling insurance before realizing she needed volleyball back in her life.
In June 2017 Michelle got married to her husband Christopher and in 2019, they welcomed their first baby, Caffrey John Aggen and welcomed their second baby Easton Todd Aggen in 2021.
Aggen is also taking classes towards a masters in sports administration and leadership at Augustana.
