High School: 2022 graduate of Waconia High School ... finished with a record of 32-8 and earned All-Conference honors as a senior while earning Section 6AAA region champion, placing fourth at the Rumble on the Red, and was named the Wildcat Wrestler of the Year ... held a 128-55 career record at Waconia High School.

Personal: Josh is the son of Jonie and Kelly Wagener ... he enjoys hunting and fishing and plans to major in business administration while at Augustana ... Wagener is the brother of Augustana wrestler Tyler Wagener.
