2011-12 (Sophomore): Named to Division II All-Academic team ... finished 2-3 wrestling three matches at 165 pounds and two at 174 ... both wins came by decisions.

2010-11 (Redshirt Freshman):  Finished 15-5 at 157 pounds ... won three matches by fall and two by major decision ... captured title at Dragon Open ... was third-place finisher at Augsburg Open.

2009-10 (Redshirt): Sat out season as redshirt ... compiled 15-14 record at 157 pounds at opens ... was sixth-place finisher at Dragon Open.

High School: 2009 graduate of Belle Fourche High School ... four-year letterwinner ... grabbed state runner-up finish at 152 pounds after finishing 39-6 as senior ... compiled 42-10 record as sophomore and finished sixth at state at 145 pounds ... wrestled for Justin Schlecht and Brad Young.

Personal: Son of Kenny and Jacque Merrell ... born July 1, 1990 ... exercise science major.
