Patty Coddington

Patty Coddington joined the Augustana women’s golf coaching staff in November 2007, teaming up with her lifelong friend and Vikings head coach, Peggy Kirby.

Born and raised in Sioux Falls, Coddington ranks as one of the most accomplished women’s golfers in South Dakota history, with a long resume of South Dakota Golf Association wins, which includes; two wins in the husband-wife championship (1986 and 1988), four victories in the women’s pre-senior championship (2001, 2003-05), three wins in the two-woman championship (1988 and 1990 with Helen Lang and 2001 with coach Kirby) and five victories in the women’s senior championship (2011, 2012, 2014-16).

Coddington and her husband Keel also finished second in the 2004 husband-wife and tied for second in the 2011 senior husband-wife championship before winning the event in 2012.

Individually, Coddington represented the SDGA five times in the USGA Women’s State Championship, and currently sits on the SDGA Board of Directors, the SDGA Junior Golf Foundation Board of Directors and the First Tee of South Dakota Board of Directors.

Her long list of accolades earned Coddington an induction into the SDGA Hall of Fame in 2012.

The Coddington’s married 1999, and raised two children, Mike and Alisa, and two grandson’s Ethan and Chase. Mike graduated from Augustana in 1993.
