#1 Lucas Wainman (K/P, So., 6-0, 234, Oviedo, Fla. /Paul J. Hagerty/St. Olaf College) had a big day in his first career game at Augustana, going 2 for 2 on field goal attempts and 5 for 5 on extra points. Wainman opened the scoring in the game hitting a 41-yard field goal on Augustana’s first drive to give the Vikings a 3-0 lead. Wainman made history in his first game at Augustana, breaking a school record which held strong for 34 years. Wainman drilled a 53-yard field goal in the second quarter and now holds the longest field goal in school history which was held by Dave Koehn, who hit a 52-yard field goal against Morningside on Sept. 22, 1979. The sophomore also holds kickoff and punting duties for Augustana and booted a 53-yard punt, putting one of three down inside the 20 and recorded six touchbacks on eight kickoff attempts.
