Katie Jesperson (Sr., Elk River, Minn./Elk River HS) continued her tear on NSIC tennis with four more wins, allowing her opponents to win just four games in six sets over the weekend. Ranked fourth in the Central Region, Jesperson dominated her singles competition, winning both her No. 1 singles matches over MSU Moorhead and Winona State in 6-0, 6-0 fashion. On the season, Jesperson is 16-1 in singles competition with her only loss coming against Division I St. Joseph's. Paired with Jessa Richards, Jesperson was equally dominant in doubles play, winning both first-flight matches 8-1. Jesperson and Richards have held the No. 2 ranking in the ITA Central Region doubles poll all season and they defended that billing with a defeat of Winona State's eighth-ranked duo of Hannah Potter and Jessica Urban. Led by Jesperson's strong baseline game, the No. 1 Viking pairing raced out to a 7-0 lead before WSU held serve for the first time in the match. Jesperson and Richards are undefeated in 2014, posting a 16-0 record, 9-0 in NSIC play.
