Carina Hofmeister (Sprints, So., Germany) broke a decade-old record as she registered a pair of runner-up finishes at the Sioux City Relays this weekend. Hofmeister clocked a 24.82-second 200-meter dash to break Tonia Burgard's record set in 2003 by over 0.30 seconds. The sophomore came up just shy of qualifying marks in both the 200- and 400-meter dashes as she took second in the 400 with a time of 56.62 seconds. Hofmeister also helped the Augustana women's 4x400-meter relay squad to a victory in 3:49.49, less than a half second from a provisional mark. Hofmeister now owns the school record in the outdoor 200-meter dash and is a member of the indoor 4x400-meter record-holding team.
