Carley Pickett (P, 5-4, So., L/L, Maplewood, Minn./North St. Paul HS) led Augustana in the circle and had a big weekend at the plate helping her team to win the Central Region 1 Tournament in Winona, Minn. Pickett posted a 2-0 record and increased her NCAA Division II lead with her ninth save of the season as the Vikings went 3-0 at the regional tournament and earned the right to host the Super Regional this weekend. She picked up the win in Augustana’s 8-7 victory over Missouri Western in the opener going 3.1 innings in relief before holding Winona State to four hits in five innings in a 2-1 win on Saturday to improve to 17-6 on the season. Pickett then came in to pitch the bottom of the seventh with a 9-8 lead over Winona State on Sunday and earned her ninth save of the season which leads all players in all of Division II. She also helped the Vikings with her bat on the weekend batting .455 with five hits in 11 at bats including a double while driving in two. Pickett came up with a big double in Augustana’s 9-8 win over Winona State on Sunday.Â
