Kyle Blakeslee collected her seventh-career All-American honor by breaking her own school record in the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase at the NCAA Championships last friday. Blakeslee ran to a personal best 10:13.93 for a runner-up finish, the highest of any of her NCAA Championship appearances. The Cannon Falls, Minn. native's time also broke her South Dakota collegiate record which she set at the Drake Relays two seasons ago. In addition to breaking two records, Blakeslee's time goes down as the sixth-fastest time in Division II history and second-fastest time ever ran at the NCAA Division II NCAA Championships. Blakeslee closes her career with three steeplechase All-American finishes, two indoor All-American finishes and two cross country All-American finishes, including an 18th-place finish in 2011 when the Vikings won the team national title.Â
