Augustana College junior Bree Woelber set a school record winning the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Pentathlon with 3,892 points on Sunday in Mankato, Minn. Woelber's pentathlon point total is the third-best score in Division II in 2015 and an automatic qualifying score for the NCAA Championships.
To start the day, Woelber clocked a time of 8.98 in the 60-meter hurdles, followed by lunging 5.54 meters (18 feet, 2.25 inches) in the long jump to take first over Sioux Falls Katlyn Sawtelle by 39 points to head into the spot put.The Pipestone, Minn. native dominated the next two events starting with a toss of 11.79 meters (38 feet, 8.25 inches) in the shot put. In the high jump, nobody would come close to Woelber as she recorded an NSIC record jump of 1.76 meters (5 feet, 9.25 inches) earning 181 more points than the next competitor. Woelber closed out competition in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:30.14 to capture the top mark in the women's pentathlon and become the new NSIC Indoor Women's Pentathlon Champion.
