A junior from Eden Prairie, Minn., Jessa Richards added two more wins in both singles and doubles to help the Vikings to their sixth consecutive NSIC regular season title this past weekend. The Vikings have now won 66 straight NSIC matches dating back to the 2009 season. Richards’ wins push her season records to 15-2 in singles and 18-0 in doubles. Augustana defeated Minnesota Duluth and St. Cloud State by a score of 9-0 this past weekend at Woodlake Athletic Club. Beginning with a shutout victory against Minnesota Duluth this past Friday Richards and Sydney Postal started the Vikings on their quest making quick work of their UMD counterparts in the No. 1 doubles match with an 8-0 win. Richards then opened the singles contests with a straight-set victory 6-0, 6-0 in the top spot over the Bulldogs' Alyssa Brunelli. Augustana hopped out to a quick 3-0 lead in the team score taking all three doubles matches over St. Cloud State. Richards and Postal finished the NSIC regular season with a perfect 11-0 mark in the top doubles flight, taking down SCSU's No. 1 pairing 8-0. The Vikings were equally dominant in singles play, starting with Richards showing off her No. 7 region ranking with a 6-1, 6-0 win in the top singles match over El O'Brien.
