Senior third baseman Caitlin Nichol had a big week at the plate, helping Augustana to a 6-0 record. Nichol batted .429 with nine hits, including two doubles and three home runs. She scored a team-high seven runs, drove in nine and compiled a .952 slugging percentage and a .520 on-base percentage. Nichol opened the week going 1 for 2 with two RBI and a double in an 11-0 win over Winona State. she added another double in game two against the Warriors, finishing 1 for 3 with a walk. She scored two of Augustana's three runs in a 3-0 win over Minnesota State on Saturday, finishing that game 1 for 3 with a walk and a stolen base. Nichol then had a huge day at Concordia-St. Paul on Sunday. In game one, she finished with a career-high four hits going 4 for 5 with three home runs, six RBI and four runs scored. She accounted for 10 of Augustana's 12 runs in the game and set a career-high and tied a single game record with three home runs. She also took over the team-lead in home runs, setting a new single season record with 20 on the year. In game two at Concordia-St. Paul, Nichol went 2 for 4 with an RBI in a 5-2 win.Â
