Augustana University Athletics

Sophie Kenney is a senior point guard for the Augustana women's basketball team. Kenney is from Fargo, N.D. where she prepped at Shanley High School. Kenney has had a great senior year averaging a career-high 10.5 points per game and 4.5 assists per game. This past weekend Kenney's senior leadership shined against cross town rival USF when she scored 12 points against the 25th ranked Cougars. Her most important bucket came as the second quarter was coming to a close. With clock nearing zero Kenney sized up her defender and knocked down a 15-foot jumper as the buzzer rang cutting the Viking deficit to just four but more importantly giving the Vikings all the momentum. Behind Kenney's leadership Augustana used that momentum to carry them to victory. Kenney ended the game with 12-points, three assists and a steal in 34 minutes of action.
