Edgington, ranked sixth in the regional rankings, opened the week by pinning Koln Fink of the University of Sioux Falls in 2:24 to help the Vikings to a 42-6 victory. Then at the Dragon Open, Edgington went 3-1. After a first-round bye, he defeated Tallen Wald, the third-ranked wrestler in the region, of MSU Moorhead 4-2. In the semifinals, Edgington dropped a 6-4 decision to Augsburg’s Jason Adams, who is ranked No. 1 in the nation in Division III. Edgington bounced back to beat Collin Englehardt of U-Mary 8-1 in the consolation semifinals. He capped the event by beating Wald a second time in the third-place match, again by a 4-2 score.
