Marcus Edgington (157 pounds, So., Sioux City, Iowa) went 5-0 with a pair of wins over nationally-ranked opponents to help eighth-ranked Augustana to an eighth-place finish at the NWCA/Cliff Keen National Duals this weekend. Edgington, ranked No. 7 in the nation and No. 2 in the region, began the weekend by edging No. 3 Danny Grater of Fort Hays State 7-5 in sudden victory. He concluded Saturday by beating Latra Collick of No. 2 Newberry 2-0 and Isaiah Jimenez of San Francisco State 6-2. On Sunday, Edgington defeated Upper iowa’s Derek Stolarzyk, who is ranked No. 3 in the region at 149 pounds, 4-2. He ended the week by beating St. Cloud State’s John Sundgren 7-3 in sudden victory. He managed to take Sundgren down to his back. Although unable to get the pin, he was also credited with a 2-point near fall. Sundgren is ranked fifth in the nation and first in the region.
