Augustana College students have elected seniors
Aaron Graumann of Sioux Falls and
Angie Hummel of Lakefield, Minn., to serve as Viking Days 2004 King and Queen.
Coronation ceremonies were held Sunday night in the Elmen Center. It is the second straight year that Viking student-athletes have been named both King and Queen.
Ryan Ovenden and
Jackie Hingst were last year's royalty.
Graumann is majoring in chemistry and Spanish. He is a member of the Vikings’ wrestling team and serves on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. He is also active in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the American Chemical Society, and the Spanish Club. Aaron, a graduate of Roosevelt High School, is the son of Patti and Paul Graumann of Sioux Falls.
Hummel is majoring in psychology and German. She is a member of the Augie volleyball team and of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes leadership team. She is also active in the Deutsch Klub, Psych Club, Blue Key, Chapel Musicians, and Outreach. Angie, a graduate of Jackson County Central High School, is the daughter of Carolyn and Ron Hummel of Lakefield, Minn.
Viking Days 2004 activities are underway on the Augustana campus. Highlights include the homecoming dance Friday night, October 8, and the homecoming parade and football game on Saturday, October 9. The parade starts at 9:30 a.m. at the intersection of 14th Street and Main Avenue. The football game with Saint Cloud State University begins at 1:00 p.m. at Howard Wood Field.
