Jessica Pape Signs with Viking Cross Country, Track and Field

SIOUX FALLS – Jessica Pape of Sioux City, Iowa has signed a national letter of intent to attend Augustana College and compete for the Vikings’ cross country and track and field teams, Viking head coach Tracy Hellman announced today.

Pape, a senior at Bishop Heelan High School, is a three-time district cross country champion who placed third at the 2003 Class 3A State Cross Country Championships. In track and field, she has qualified for the state meet in the 3000 meters the past two seasons. In addition, she qualified for the 1500 meters as a sophomore, and the distance medley relay and 4X800 relay as a freshman.

She has a personal best time of 5:03 in the 1500 meters and 10:46 in the 3000 meters.

Pape is the 12th person to sign with the Vikings during the spring signing period. The 2004 recruiting class includes:
