Alison Adamson scored 20 of her team-high 25 points in the first half to help the Vikings to a 55-27 halftime.
The Vikings (15-5, 3-2 NCC) shot extremely well in the first half, connecting on 18 of 32 (56 percent) field goal attempts, including a 6-for-13 effort from 3-point range. Augie also made 13 of 18 free throws in the first half.
Augustana took control of the game in the final 9 minutes of the half. Holding a 25-19 lead with 8:41 on the clock, the Vikings went on a 18-4 run to boost their lead to 20 at 43-23 with 4:37 remaining in the half. Adamson sparked the run with 10 points, including a pair of 3-pointers that started and ended the spurt.
After the big first half, the Vikings' largest lead of the second half was 34 points on two occasions. The closest the Mavericks got in the second half was the final score.
Adamson was one of four Vikings in double figures. Joining her were
Jessica Klein with 14 points and
Andrea Seefeldt and
Jamy Eckstaine with 12 points apiece.
Arin Andrews led Minnesota State (9-11, 0-5 NCC) with a game-high 27 points. Flecia Foster added 13 points for the Mavericks.
