Augustana College's
Mary Stoll and
Luke Baltrusch have been named the North Central Conference Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week for their performances at the Iowa State Open.
Stoll, a senior from Sioux Falls, S.D., was the female recipient, while Baltrusch, a senior from Colorado Springs, Colo., shared the award with Michael Lawrence of Minnesota State.
Stoll placed third in the 800-meter run with a personal-best time of 2:13.51. With her effort, she established a provisional qualifying performance for the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships. Her time is also the second-fastest time in school history and the second-fastest time in NCAA Division II competition this season.
Baltrusch provisionally qualified in two events. On Friday, he turned in a time of 14:41.21 in the 5,000 meters to finish second. His time is the third-fastest time in Division II this season. He came back on Saturday to place fourth in the mile with a time of 4:12.95, which is the ninth-fastest time in the country this season.
