Augustana assistant wrestling coach Tom Meester finished fourth at the Sunkist International Open in Freestyle Saturday in Arizona.

Meester, a two-time national champion for the Vikings in 2004 and 2005, went 5-2 at the tournament to finish fourth in the 32-man bracket.

The matches consisted of best of 3 period matches. Meester won his first 2 matches before dropping a quarterfinal match against Tony Gansen.

Meester rebounded with 3 wins in the wrestlebacks before facing Gansen again in the third-place match. Meester lost the first period 2-1. In the second period, the wrestlers were tied 3-3, securing the win for Gansen.
