Jillian Tholen raced to All-American honors to help lead the Augustana women's cross country team to an 11th-place finish at the NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships Saturday in Pensacola, Fla.
Tholen, a freshman from Tracy, Minn., turned in a time of 20:58.3 over the 6K course to finish in 14th place overall. The top 30 finishers earned All-American honors, as well as the top 30 American finishers.
As a team, Augustana had a team score of 306. The Vikings missed a top 10 finish by 18 points as Edinboro finished 10th with a team score of 288.
Adams State won the national team championship with a team score of 94, while Western State's Esther Komen won the individual title in a time of 20.09.4.
Following Tholen, Jessica Pape was 42nd in 21:37.9, while Molly Clark was 73rd in 22:16.2. Alyssa Anderson had a time of 22:34.6 to finish 86th, while Caitlin Polgreen was close behind in 91st place in 22:40.6.
Augustana's other competitors were Kelly Fernandez (104th in 22:56.8) and Mairead Kelly (113th in 23:06.3).
